I'm in my 30's and I still run up the stairs from a dark basement. I'm even faster if the stairs are wooden ones with gaps that hands can grab your ankles. Ironically, I love watching horror movies. Apparently I like to torture myself.
I'm really big into budgeting and strive to live a debt-free life. I hate loans, I hate debt, I hate having to owe someone money. You would probably guess right if you said I was a Dave Ramsey fan.
My biggest pet peeve is loud eating or mouth noises. Movie theaters can be a struggle sometimes because I'm so focused on the obnoxious popcorn crunching that I find it difficult to enjoy the movie. I'm also known to have a potty mouth.
I love the outdoors, the mountains and hiking. Being surrounded by the outdoors and mountains is a wonderful experience for me. I enjoy the perspective it provides: that we're pretty small in the grand scheme of things.
One time I went to a Jason Mraz concert (which was amazing, and I highly recommend going to one!). My parents, my friend and I snuck backstage and I got to kiss his cheek. True story. It was awesome.
Here are five things you might not know about me:
Do things with intention and passion, or do nothing at all.
It's important to value true character without any false pretenses.
Well thought out and meaningful work always trumps quantity.
Let's be honest with each other for a moment. It's really hard to get away from the highlight reel of everyone's life, and it can be really hard to stay humble, and be genuinely authentic. These days it's easy to tuck behind a screen and showcase your 'best moments' to try to keep up with competition. Being a business owner is hard. It comes with self doubt, failures, some sleepless nights, panic and anxiety, and even some hard 'no's'. It also comes with pride, success, learning opportunities, strength building, growth and so much more. It's definitely a roller coaster ride. Just know this, friend: you are not alone. If we can stay passionate, pursue quality, and stay honest with ourselves and our loved ones... we can enjoy authenticity a whole lot more. We can build each other up and we can enjoy our lives the way we intend to live them.
The philosophy for CK Design revolves around staying authentic and striving for transparency.
